A: you should be able to put towing equipment on to your truck. it can tow up to seven thousand pounds already. just be sure to install i correctly. since the truck was made for performance not work it will not be as good as a normal truck.

Q: I can't get my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 to start, any ideas?
The engine cranks over, but won't fire up. This condition started about a week ago and would eventually start, it would run just fine once it started, but now it won't even start at all. It is a regular cab 4x4 SLT.

My 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 liter V8 stalls when I coast. This happens when I have been accelarting and I let off the gas. Does anyone know what could be the cause.

A: If you have fuel injection, it sounds like either low fuel pressure....filter dirty....or the throttle position sensor giving false readings, which would allow a large slug of air, without the necessary fuel to go with it. Quite a lot like the accelerator pump symptom above. Both can be tested....fuel pressure, and the TPS. Google rocks , but I would also check your local dodge dealer and make sure nothing was wrong with the 2005 dodge trucks and hopefuly if their was yours is in warranty.

A: true duals are always better then dual outlet muffler but you have the added expense of the extra catalystic converter but the added cost is worth it for the extra gas milage and extra power it adds but if you do go with the true duals go to a good performance shop and have a custom exhaust built and have them add a X pipe after the converters but before the mufflers it will help equalize the pressure between the 2 sides giving the same back pressure and equlizing the sound i would run flow master single chamber mufflers 2 1/2 inch inlet with 3 inch outlet thats what im running on my 80 dodge ram with a 440 and you wouldnt believe how sweet it sounds

A: its not wired right ,go back over the wiring and check all the wires real good,you got one in the wrong place somewhere,check the functions of the new radio and see if they all work right,i have changed those before and never had that problem,one problem that i have had was they wouldnt hold their memory ,and its always in the wiring ,good luck.

Q: 2005 Dodge Ram Air Conditioner Causing rough idol.?
I have a 2005 Dodge ram 1500 4.7. When I turn on the Air conditioner it causes a surging idol, and sometimes will stall the engine at low RPMs. Just recently had the dealer change the EGR valve (due to check engine light) which was causing the same problem. This situation only occurs now with the air on, any ideas would be a big help

A: have you checked to see if your getting any codes on it or if the compressor is actually trying lock up on it,i had one a few weeks ago that would do that on occasion and it was a bad compressor causing this to happen every once in a while it would try to lock up,but the thing that threw us off was that it wouldn't do it all the time,id check that and check for any trouble codes on it,good luck.

Q: How do I make my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT (4.7 liter) faster ?
I would realy aprreciate any info on how I can make my baby faster ; because, this truck is retarted slow compared to all of my friend's trucks. I did get an cold air intake from ebay, but it didnt do a whole lot though.

A: if you get a chance to ,add a programmer to it ,this will allow you to dial it in a lot closer on timing and also on the amount of fuel it receives and it will give you a big gain in horse power,and performance,good luck.

Q: Does a 2005 Dodge Ram Hemi have 2 spark plugs per cylinder?


A: and they are a pain to change. the brake booster is on top of 4 of them, and the egr tube has to come off to remove one of the coils.

1 light will not come on its a new bulb i just put in.beside trying the fuse is there anything else i can try.all other lights work.

A: i hate to tell you this but you could have bought a bad bulb,what id try doing is changing the bulbs from one side to the other and see if that was it,if not start checking the wires in the harness for them,use a 12 volt test light and check for power, on the side that wont work,also check the ground wire really good,i have seen 06,s with loose ground wires before,check the plug really good,this sometimes will not make a good connection,you should be able to re-store power to the one side,,they both work off the same fuse,good luck with it.

Q: what could cause a defroster not to work on 2005 dodge ram?


A: c-tech is right and a bad inside control unit will also cause the same thing to happen on that truck,its not letting the air divert to the upper part of the heater box,good luck with it.

Q: real life gas mileage of a 2005 dodge ram hemi?
looking to buy a 05 ram 1500, 5.7 quad cab. What do people get for real gas mileage? also I live in a small town with few redlights and some stop signs. where you can drive from 1-5 miles before stopping which will give better results then the city. If anyone also drives in these conditions what do you get for mileage thanks

A: i drove one while mine was in the shop being repaired from an accident and i got about 13-14 in the city with it and around 18-19 on the highway with it,and it was an 05 model,with very low miles on it,that was the best i could get from it though and that was using premium fuel in it also,good luck.
