My brother is saying that a 1992 silverado, lowered with 130,000 miles,v8 is better than a 2000 ford mustang with 60,000 miles, v6. He says this because it is a ford and that v6 mustangs have engine problems. So which is better and if so why? I don't think he is right, but he is the one with the automotive background.
A: Sorry but thats straight bull sh**. I have owned 2 gt's and 2 v6's. Right now i have a v6. I have raced all kinds of crap. I have raced a dodge hemi and beat it. O yea and i raced my friends 95 chevy truck with 350 v8 2wd and smoked him. No lie. Tell your brother he shouldnt underestimate what he doesnt know. A truck that size would have to have one hell of an engine to pull on a car as light as a mustang. The trucks weight would get it everytime. I have been there done that.
Q: What could be the cause of the rattling sound from my 2000 Ford Mustang?
It makes a loud rattling sound when in drive, but stops when I put it into park. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? Thanks.
A: Ah, lots of things. When your car is in drive, there is a load on the driveline that is not there whey in park. #1 & 2 causes would be broken exaust hanger and broken motor mount.
Further investigation with someone in side and someone outside the car will help you track down the problem.

It sounds like a little rock or pebble is rolling around in the ONLY one vent.
A: try to put a wedge on the vent (paper or something) and if the sound stop try to spray wd40 on the side of the vent,this is just temporary,
try to put the a/c lever to defrost or floor and observe,,if the noise is still there,check for foreign object on the right lower panel where the a/c air enter

Q: Does a fuse control the backup and license plate lights on a 2000 Ford Mustang?
I noticed one night when my lights were on that the lights that shine on the license plate in the back were not on. Then a few days later I was told that my reverse lights were not working either. Can this be a fuse? Any ideas are great. Thanks in advance!
A: nope the backup lights are controled by a switch on the transmission, it dose have a fuse but I beleave there are other functions on that fuse. the license plate light are on the same wiring as your running lights so if you running lights are on the bulbs are burnt out of you have a bad ground

A: Take it to your local Auto Zone. They will plug in a little computer to your car and give you a free diagnosis that will tell you exactly why your light is on. My light came on because I needed a new O2 sensor.

A: unless you have some Type of a posi rear end, only one wheel will spin. It takes horsepower and torque to spin both back tires, and a v6 doesn't have it. doing burnouts my look cool to all your friends, be sure and take up a collection from them for the new transmission your going to need because smoking the tires kills tyranny's

Probably will be replacing this part at some point soon so I wanted to go ahead and get an idea of where it is.
A: passenger side bottom.. depending upon the motor it can be a nightmare... best left to a pro if backyard mechanic work is not your thing on the v-8 motor.... (the v-6 is easier but takes a little more than a basic set of tools if I remember)

A: Most mechanics won't do this, but yes you could re-flash the card with a re-programmer. I guess that 115 isn't fast enough. You may be disappointed when you discover that the car won't go much faster drag limited as it does now. In proving ground tests the 3.8 liter Mustang was only able to achieve around 123mph drag limited, and in stock tune. Now if you re-chip the car and alter the fuel map and timing; that's another story.
