Take a look at this great lense about the 2003 Ford Mustang.

Q: What does this code mean for a 2003 Ford Mustang?
I got my check engine light checked out and this code came up: P1506 - Manufacturer Controlled Vehicle Speed, Idle Control and Auxiliary Inputs What does that mean? The guy who did it for me couldn't tell me. I haven't called Ford yet either.

A: ^dumbass..... im pretty sure ford was the only american car company that didnt need the government to give the millions of dollars to stay afloat dude and it means the electronics are messed up that have to do with the aux controls of the car. find a mechanic who knows what the hell he is doin cuz the dude who helped you has no idea, also, try to find a GOOD and HONEST mechanic, NOT the dealerships of any car company, cuz it could be nothing serious except jus a short in the wires or something that they could charge u an arm and a leg for.

Q: I have a 2003 Ford Mustang and recently my breaks go to the floor. What could be wrong?
I had my front breaks changed and also the right side rotar changed about 2 weeks ago.

A: If it stops normally and then the pedal slowly creeps to the floor. You do not have to be driving to check this. Some Brake outfits that cheat when you go cheap. They will push the caliper cylinder in without releasing the pressure and force the fluid back into the master cylinder.Sometimes this will cause an umbrella seal to fail and the fluid exchanges between reservoirs. If the brake pedal just goes to the floor just sitting there it could be the bleeder valve or a hose leak, check the inside of your front tires for fluid residue.Any way you look at it you need to go back to that shop.

Q: Which would be a better buy, a 2001 Ford Mustang Svt cobra or a 2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1?
I am considering purchasing either one. Both are completely stock and have less than 30,000 miles on them. Any suggestions based on facts, opinions, benefits of either one, or any known problems with either one is appriecated.

A: both great cars, and below are websites for specs. now the 01 cobra has a little more horsepower than the mach 1, but i would recommend the mach 1....mostly because its newer and the 03 mach 1 had perhaps a better set-up chassis wise than 01 cobra. down the road the mach 1 will likely have more value (the 01 cobra was not best of the cobra breed and really cobra name did not resurface until 2003/2004 cobra series)... and lastly the shaker hood set-up of the mach 1 series is really nice. both run same basic engine ford modular 4.6 modified from the gt in different ways. these are solid, dependable engines. whether you get the performance bug and enhance them or keep them as is, they are one of the best blocks around. whichever car you choose, great drive....but again i recommend mach 1....here's a review http://www.automedia.com/2003_Ford_Mustang_Mach_1/rts20030401m1/1 specs cobra http://www.edmunds.com/used/2001/ford/mustang/100001056/specs.html?mktcat=used+style+specs+page&kw=2001+ford+mustang+100001056+style+specs+page&mktid=ik16231731 specs mach 1 http://www.edmunds.com/used/2003/ford/mustang/100079818/specs.html?mktcat=used+style+specs+page&kw=2003+ford+mustang+100079818+style+specs+page&mktid=ik16231731\ you might also get on a forum like http://www.svtperformance.com/ good luck, have fun (04 cobra running 575 rwhp)http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/show_image.pl?image=http://memimage.cardomain.com/member_images/1/web/3169000-3169999/3169967_8_full.jpg?191110-286

Q: What is the difference between a factory headers and after market headers on a 2003 ford mustang gt?

A: factory headers for a 2003 mustang gt are restricitve headers for exhaust flow, they are probably made of cast iron. These are the headers or really exhaust manifolds that the car came of the assembly line with. Aftermarket headers are a little larger in diameter permitting more exhaust flow and are usually stainless steel.

Q: Where can I find directions on how to install power side-mirrors for a 2003 Ford Mustang?
I need directions on the wiring.

A: If the vehicle doesn't have the provisions in the factory harness for them, it will be a bit of a pain. The driver's side will be easy if you have power door locks. Just tap into the ground and power wires from the lock switch. The passenger side will require you to run wires from the driver's door. You could check and see if the main dash harness is the same for vehicles with or with out electric mirrors. If it is the same, then you could order door harnesses for vehicles with power mirrors....that would make the job lots easier....

Q: Is there any place that sells louvres for 2003 Ford Mustang's rear quarter window?
JC Whitney does not sell them, ebay does not sell them, but I've seen cars that have them. Is there a place that custom makes them?

A: http://v6mustangstuff.com/Exterior3.htm for $152.99. I dont care what anyone says I think they look awesome.

Q: Where can i get wire diagram for a 2003 ford mustang?
i recently purchased a car alarm that im going to install myself. does anybody know where i can get a wire diagram for this?

A: Check out ChiltonLibrary.com If the link doesn't work (a lot of times it doesn't) just google "Chilton Library" and click first link. Enter your make, model, year. Has all sorts of electrical diagrams and repair info.

Q: Can anyone tell me where the fuse is located for the AC outlets & the convertible top in a 2003 Ford Mustang?
I have no power going to either of my cigarette lighter/AC outlets and now I have no power going to my convertible top. I'd like the check the fuse panel but I don't know which fuses are for the AC outlets or the convertible top.

A: Go here first: http://genuineservice.com/genuineservice/en/default?page=Home If you don't have a owners manual download a free copy here... The convertable top uses a breaker that automatically resets... But start on page 118 of the book for help And if it isn't fuses for the top, recommend a dealer and recommending shoving your hands between the seats in back to see if your hands touch some slimy fluid... if yes, top has a hydraulic leak

Q: 2003 Ford Mustang Convertible,I did the front passenger brake , Since then the caliper start cease or jam.?
Since then the caliper start cease or jam on passenger front .Reason why I change the brake pad is completely finish . What can I do to release or free the piston ? I did both front ,Driver and passenger, only the passenger jam .

A: Did you put anti seize lubricant/breakpad lubricant on the pads. (im not sure how the breaks are done on the mustang, if their are pins it slides on or just the pads slide them selves. It's also probably pretty likely that you forgot to reinstall a clip or something that puts pressure outward. And did you do both sides or just one? did you push the piston too far back when installing the new pads?

Q: Where can I get a chiltons or Haynes manual for a 2003 ford mustang gt?

A: Ebay is the best place to get used manuals. Here's a few for under $10 A brand new repair manual costs between $15 - $18 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Haynes-Repair-Manual-Ford-Mustang-1994-2003_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem4a976c1d15QQitemZ320368024853QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiterature http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Haynes-Repair-manual-book-Ford-Mustang-1994-to-2003_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem1e56c9af98QQitemZ130305077144QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiterature

Q: Is the gear shift panel for the 2003 Ford Mustang suppose to light up?
I think it's suppose to, you know where the neautral, drive, rear stuff is, the panel should light up shouldn't it? It's really annoying changing gears in the dark when I can't even see it... I need to know so I can take it in and fix it.

A: Yes it IS supposed to light up, hon. Don't wait. Take it to the dealership. Try a Saturday morning.. they are less crowded but do show up early. Leaving a car at Ford Dealerships isn't pleasant!
