I was wondering what engine would fit into my 1992 honda civic and i want the one with most power but don't wanna have to change the wire harness so which honda engine do i need so i can have sent away to be built because I bought a 1992 honda shell.

Q: The other day I added non-Honda power steering fluid to my 1992 Honda Civic. Will this cause damage?
The Honda is a 1992 Civic, standard trans. The steering suddenly stared going wild and is almost impossible to control and it makes noises. The non-Honda fluid was added two days ago and it just started acting weird. Can this problem be solved by simply flushing the system or is there damage? Will it be expensive to fix? The manual says add ONLY HONDA power steering fluid.

A: i would say you have a problem with your rack and pinon, because that's never happened to my 95civic and i just put brake fluid into the power steering reservoir and it works fine.. I would take it to a mechanic to have them look at it and tell you exactly what's wrong

Q: How to replace wheel covers in 1992 Honda Civic Si?
So I bought some new wheel covers for my 1992 Civic Si, because two of the stock ones have disappeared recently(not sure from driving or stolen) and I'm wondering how to replace the stock ones. do I have to unscrew the bolts then put them on? These new wheel covers are snap on covers with a metal ring, no bolts are required.

A: Most all honda wheel covers (hubcaps) are held on by the some nylon washers on the lug nuts. This means that you need to put the wheel covers on the wheel, then put the lug nuts on to hold them. If you put them on after the wheel is already mounted and on the car, they will fall off very easily, which is likley how the other ones disappeared. I hope this helps.

Q: Would toyota rims be usable on a 1992 honda civic, if so what do i torque them to?
i have steel rims on my 1992 honda civic right now so i went and bought some old toyota aluminum rims to put on it, they arent anything special but they are better than the steel ones. I wanna know if they can be used on my honda civic and what torque they go to if i can use them? the bolt pattern is the same and i have the lug nuts from the toyota rims with them.

A: no... I think the toyota supra's wheel dimension's are 5x115 and the Honda civic's are for sure 4X100... so you won't be able to do it.. unless you want to spend a extra $1000 and get a Integra Type-R or a Civic Type-R 5 lug conversion!

A: If you have a Lucky's auto paint shop in your area you can get a single stage urethane for about $375. Add a couple hundred if you have dings and dents on your body. Just avoid enamel paint unless you want it to look like crap an a couple years.

Q: I need to replace an a/c condenser for 1992 honda civic. What type is it?
It is a 92 Civic EX 1.6L, 4-door. I have researched the parts online and I have come across two different types; serpentine, and parallel. How do I know which one I have?

A: a serpentine condensor uses one continuous tube that winds back and forth through the condensor fins from top to bottom. A parallel condesor has two tubes that alternate loops to give the refrigerant two paths to flow through. Parallel condensors usually have a greater flow and efficiency because of the greater surface area of the cooling coils. parallel condensors are usually smaller than the full size serpentine condensors I'm almost positive that the 92 civics used parallel condensors. the serpentine was used on the accords. look on the side of the condensor. if you see overlapping loops of tubing on the side where then enter and exit the condensor fins then they are in parallel. I'm pretty sure yours is a parallel condensor. hope that helps

how many brake marks should a 1992 honda civic leave when locking the brakes up please leave dump comments to your self here's why i need to know i was cut off and had an accident when i locked my brakes it only left one skid mark does that mean that my brake system was not working right and only one brake was locking

A: The situation you had is not an indicator of your brakes` condition. Were you turning? did you really slam hard? how fast were you going? Are your tire pressures even? do you have oversize tires on it?? Do they pull to one side on normal hard-ish stops? Has the brake fluid been changed since 1992? All of these are factors. Most brake shops will inspect your brakes and might even give you an honest answer to their condition. That is the best way to know their condition. If they dont make a grinding sound when you stop, the pads/shoes are good, when they wear down they still stop with the same ability as new ones. The best controlled hard stops do not leave skid marks. but sometimes you may get one...

looking to upgrade just about everything... what all do i need to make my car faster and louder (acceleration and top speed) what could i get to change the look? body kits? lights? everything, any suggestions on how to make this a stand out car that i can enjoy driving?

A: I agree that an engine swap or turbo would be best, a B16 or B18 is a poplular swap, also the H22 is gaining poplularity to be swapped into a civic with a B series trans. You could do the header, intake, bigger throttle body etc, but in the end you will still be wanting more.
