Q: How do I replace the Flasher (EP34) on my 2000 Honda Accord?
QUESTION: How do I replace the Flasher!
* CAR: 2000 EX Honda Accord
* SYMPTOM: When I use the right turn blinker, it blinks at double the normal rate. The light burns but does not blink. I am thinking it is the flasher that should be replaced....
and
ANSWER & MORE DETAILS:
Searched through the manual and didn't find the location of the flasher.
Finally I read some www.cartalk.com comments and found the answer. I put on the left turn signal (right one was the one tha didn't work. I put my head by the gas pedal under the dashboard. In this way I was able to locate the flasher by sound and feel (you can actually "feel" the click inside the flasher when it blinks.)
As it turned out both the flasher AND one of the two filaments in the small orange bulb were broken. The small orange bulb was eaily replaced by following the instructions in the manual (turning the wheel left and popping the cover off, reaching in and with a quarter turn removing the unit holding the bulb.)
A: Make sure all the bulbs have been replaced and locate the flasher by looking up the part number on http://www.autozone.com for your car.
Q: How do I change the front right turning signal on a 2000 Honda Accord Sedan?

A: open hood one screw on top blinker housing an pulloff replace bulb an put housing back
Q: I replaced the EGR valve of a V6 2000 Honda Accord, and my check engine and service lights are still on?
I already drove the car for 300 miles, disconnected the battery, and erased the code, and both lights are still on. Do you have any idea what's going on?? I would greatly appreciate an answer. Thanks!
A: You need to get a real mechanic to clear the codes from the ECU. Call up a Honda dealer and shell out the $85 in labor you cheap ass.
Q: How do you reset a SRS light on 2000 Honda Accord, Besides taking to dealer?
Seems to be common problem with Hondas, Has anyone had dealer to reset for them and what was cost?
A: Got that right, I know everyone fears the dreaded dealer but the air bag is an explosive ready to go off. I have 2 of my guys trained in proper maintenance and I am not a dealer I have a 35 year old shop and we do airbag and ABS service just like the big boys do. You need to get it in as it can false trigger but this light usually disables the bags.
Q: Is it ok to buy a 2000 Honda Accord with 150k Miles on it?
All things considered, its a decent car. Manual, coupe, 150k miles. Pretty good cosmetic shape. $3,500 Cash.
What do you think?
A: Sounds like quite a bit. I think they are trying to get the blue book price for it which is always more than you should pay.
Edit A 2000 Accord LX with a 150,000 blue books for about $3,200 private party in good condition. You may have another
model but that will be a close price. Check out kbb.com to get a better idea. Just remember the prices they give are starting points not what the car is actually worth.
Q: Where can i find i diagram of the firewall of my 2000 Honda Accord to wire an amp?
What is the best way to send the power cable though the firewall (preferably on the passenger side)?
A: first see if there is a hole already through the firewall that you can feed the power wire through (depending on the size of the wire), besides that, you just have to pick a spot and drill a hole through, just try to find a spot thats open enough on both sides so you don't drill into anything. Then make sure if you drill the hole you get a rubber gromet to put in the hole to keep the wire from wearing through and touching the firewall and to keep water out also.
Q: What is the importance of changing the spark plugs on your 2000 Honda Accord at 100k miles?
I'm at 96k now and need a timing belt and spark plugs. A broken timing belt will ruin your car, so I'm doing that ASAP but for money's sake, how important is having the spark plugs replaced? Can it wait till the scheduled time?
A: I would go ahead and do it, you will get more power and gas mileage and your car will run smoother. The manufactures rating on this maintenance is a bit long in my opinion. Also a broken timing belt in most cars will not hurt anything it will just require your car to be towed. I am unaware if you engine is a inference type or not. If not then yo do not have to worry about not changing the belt destroying your engine.
Q: What should be the thickness of new brake linings for a 2000 Honda Accord?
The dealership reports that the rears are down to 1 mm, I assume that means that it's about time to replace them, but I'm curious what the thickness is when new linings are installed. Thanks in advance.
A: oh, yeah its time to replace average brakes are about 3/8 to 1/2 inch. 1mm is close to paper thin, its time to replace. the brakes would be cheaper if you go to your local parts store. you can look up parts at www.partsamerica.com
Q: How do I change the rear wheel bearings on a 2000 Honda Accord?
I know how to remove the wheel, caliper, and rotor, but am not sure where to go from there...
A: look back by the backing plate. you will see about 4 or 5 hex bolts, they need to come out before the bearing will come off. and when you put the new 1 on tighten the bolts with a criss cross method.
Q: How much should it cost to replace timing belt in 2000 Honda Accord (4cy)?
Went to dealership for scheduled maintenance, they stated that I should replace my timing belt after 105k miles. There does not seem to be any issues with the performance of the vehicle; however, I was told that if the belt cracks, the engine would be destroyed. Dealership quoted $795 installed (including replacement of all other belts). I guess I believe that it should be replaced; however, I find it hard to believe that I would get the best quote from the dealership.
A: You're on the right track. Without breaking down the labor, it's hard to say if their estimate is fair or not, but surely, it doesn't help to go to a couple locally owned auto shops and get a quote from them. If the car has what is known as an "interference fit engine" and the belt breaks, parts of the engine will "interfere" with each other and yes, it will be for most accounts, destroyed. Take it to a couple shops first before having the dealer do this project.
Q: I have a 2000 Honda Accord V6, what kind of engine oil should I use?
Also, how often does it need to be changed and how much should it cost?
A: The cost depends on what kind of oil you use. I preferr Synthetic Blend. Little more expensive, but I don't get all that sludge.
Should be changed every 3000 miles
Q: i just had an oil change on my 2000 honda accord at firestone today?
only to get home and find a little smoke coming out between the hood and the windshield. this has never happened before, is this something i should be worried about?
A: As an ex-mechanic I know when you add the oil into the engine often a little spill . Imagine pouring soda for one bottle to the other the hole is small and sometime a little will run over the side. A funnel can stop this but some garages frown upon the use of funnels because in between uses the oiliness on the funnel will pick up foreign contaminates that are harmful to the engine
Q: How do I tune-up a 2000 Honda Accord?
My sister has a 2000 Honda Accord LX w/ 175k and it needs a tune-up.
Can someone please tell me:
1.Tools that I will need.
2. Parts that I need to change.
3. Can I get away with changing the BELTS myself.
4.Online do-it-yourself step-by-step manuals.
5. Any other pertinent information I should know.
6. Tips.
Thank you. Thank you!
A: yes you can change the belts but for the timing belt you need to be held by the hand, 1 set of plugs an air filter, fuel filter, oil and oil filter, drain the radiator and refill with new coolant,4 liters, put some fuel pump cleaner in the tank and top up auto trans ,brake and clutch reservoir.
you will need sockets and spanners 12 to 16mm a screw driver and a pair of mole grips, for more info look on the car doctor site
Q: Where can i find i diagram of the firewall of my 2000 Honda Accord to wire an amp?
What is the best way to send the power cable though the firewall (preferably on the passenger side)?
A: who needs a diagram. I just looked at the firewall on my 91 accord, and found a rubber plug in it that wasn't near anything dangerous; so i took the plug out, drilled a hole in it the size of the wire, and put it back. It was on the passenger side, and went through at passenger's foot level. I took it from there and put it under the carpet up to the back seat, then around the side of the back seat so that it was unseen, and bingo, you've got your amp wires in your trunk. I put the RCA cables under the carpet at the same time as the power wire.
Q: I lost a snake in my 2000 Honda Accord dash board. And suggestions on how to get it out?
And suggestions on how to get it out? Or where to look in the dashboard. I've already removed the glove box, stereo and looked behind it.
A: Turn loose a cricket, or a mouse. When he gets hungry, he'll come out and then you can nab the critter!
