Q: What are the best initial upgrades for a 2000 honda civic for under $1000?
If i have $1000 to spend on my 2000 honda civic, how should i spend it to get the best power improvement? Alternatively, is there any way to spend that $1000 to improve its overall fuel efficiency?

A: intake, headers, exhaust. the 3 basic and common upgrades. they also increase fuel efficiency. also, upgrade your ground wires. use thicker wires to better ground everything. a grounding kit isn't necessary, as i've seen friends of mine just use thicker cables to ground and it does the same job as the 'sun' kits.

Q: I have a 2000 Honda Civic & receintly the doors have a clicking noise and the door control won't always work.
At times the inside door switch to lock the doors doesn't work, and then at anytime it will just start clicking again. Do you have any suggestions?

A: the door lock actuator is going bad. It is cycling between lock and unlock as the magnetic solenoid is breaking down. you will need to have the door lock actuator replaced. It is usually limited to one door only and it typically runs about $150 to replace the bad actuator. hope that answers your question

Q: 2000 Honda Civic turned a yellow light saying check. It started to shake a little too. Anyone knows what it is?
Can some one help me? My civic turned a yellow light this morning saying check and it has been shaking a little since then. Does anyone know what it is? 10 pts for best answer

A: I can probably bet that you have had a misfire. This will cause your vehicle to be shaky and your check engine light to come on. If you take your car to an Auto Zone or Checker Auto Parts they will be able to read the code in you car and tell you which cylinder it was that misfired. You will probably end up needing new spark plugs and wires, which are pretty simple to do yourself. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Q: What do i need to get the Radio code for a 2000 Honda Civic?
What serial numbers and such, as well as how much it will cost or who is best to try to get this info.

A: if you bought it from a dealer then all you would need is the VIN and they shoud have the code on record. if not then it will be a little harder. check the owners manual if u still have it. if you bought it from a private saller then check with them. they may have the code or have info to the dealer where the car originated. there have also been instances where i have pulled out Honda radios and th code is written somwhere on the radio

Q: Does replacing a timing belt for a 2000 Honda civic have anything to do with why my AC screeches?
I recently got my timing belt replaced and a couple days later my AC started screeching when I turned it on. Is it possible that the two are related? I did not get the AC belt replaced, but the timeframe for that belt to need to be fixed all of a sudden is suspicious. I was told the screeching sound could be an issue with the air compressor. Basically I'm worried that I'll be taken advantage of and end up paying for things I don't need fixed.

A: They have to take off the A/C belt to replace the timing belt. In fact...all belts have to come off!. The belt is not tight enough! Go back and get them to look at it. Make sureit is on properly and check for proper tightness! It should be a "multi-ribbed belt" not a serpentine belt

Q: 2000 honda civic a good pick for tune up?
Im looking for Hatchback civic for learning modifying honda cars. Here in canada, I notice there's only cx and dx. I wonder they can fit B18C5, or B16B, or B16A gen 2? cx and dx, which one is better for tunnings? or there're other better model hatchback for noob modifier?

A: If you are going to do an engine swap it doesnt matter which model you get. Pretty much any B-Series, K-Series, H-Series engine will fit into a 2000 Civic, its just a matter of how much you want to spend on getting it mounted with the proper transmission. If it were up to me, I would go with a B16C5. But then again B16C5's are hard to find, and therefore expensive. If B16C5 cant be found, you can never go wrong with a K20A swap.

Q: How much does it cost for a 2000 Honda Civic engine?
i'm told i need to replace my engine. my car is 8 years old. it's in decent shape but it has close to 190K miles on it. is it worth it to replace the engine or should i start looking for a whole new (or used) car ?

A: well its worth changing engine if your car is in good shape. but the thing is you dont need a engine from a 2000 honda civic. you can almost put any civic engine before you civic's year. i think as far back as 1992. if you find a nice engine from a older year it should fit right in :]

Q: what kinds of motors will fit a 2000 honda civic dx coupe?
My engine just blew and im looking for one thatll fit. Please give me expected prices and aditional parts that would have to be changed in order to fit it.

A: Any motor that honda or acura makes. just have to get the correct mounts.
