Q: Problems with a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta GLI / 2002 2002 Jetta GLS?
im considering purchasing a '05 Jetta GLI or a 2002 Jetta GLS, and i was wondering if anybody out there is experiencing major problems with the these cars. im new to volkswagen so any input helps. thanks.

A: A friend has a 03 Jetta with over 100K reliable miles on it. My wife's 05 Jetta has 76K hassle-free , super durable miles on it. My personal favorite is my 06 GTI, which even after 4 yrs. of ownership, still has me doing 'back-flips' of pure joy every time I get behind the leather-crafted steering wheel. So to answer your ?, we have had not even 1 bad experience with our VWs. Contrary to unfounded rumors, VWs are not built by gypsies; they are magically assembled by dedicated Black Forest Elves!!

Q: 2002 Volkswagen Jetta Air conditioning Issue?
The a/c on my 2002 Volkswagen Jetta runs fine while moving - cold and powerful. When stopped - even at a light - the temperature immediately runs warm and more humid until we get moving again. Has anyone heard of or experienced this and have a solution?

A: Try doing a simple tune up, plugs, wires, air filter and see if there is a difference.

Q: how much should it cost to replace 02 sensor on 2002 volkswagen Jetta?

A: Parts and labor with a vw sensor around 250 dollars. If you own a phone, call a couple shops and ask.

Q: 2002 Volkswagen Jetta, how good is it? Parts expensive?
I have a Mercedes Benz 2004 and well part and labor are real expensive, there is this guy that wants to buy my car and I buy his 2002 Jetta with 56000 miles, so I want to know how good this cars are and if its labor and part are expensive, like does it need like special stuff like my MB, ex: premium gas, only synthetic oil changes, etc. If you know anything about this cars just let me know. Thanks

A: well i have 2 vws and yes jettas are great cars! no special needs like synthetic oil etc. parts are not so bad but labor hurts to look at.

Q: Should I get a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta GLS TDI?
The car has 67,000miles on it and it is 3,600 dollars. The car is in good condition, it sounds like a deal to me. How long do these cars last? From what I've read they last a long long time and are good cars, well the TDI ones anyways, they have the diesel engine

A: That price sounds almost too good.. might be a good idea to run a Carfax check on it unless you personally know the owner and the car's history.

Q: My 2002 Volkswagen Jetta needs a new oxygen sensor around how much does that cost?

A: Depends on what motor http://www.germanautoparts.com/Volkswagen/Jetta/EngineElectrical/152/16

Q: 2002 Volkswagen Jetta OR 2002 Toyota AVALON XL? Which is better?
I've wanted a Jetta for years and now I have a chance to buy one... but I've also been looking at an Avalon too so now I'm stuck!! I have 2 kids so I definitely need something reliable. Remember when advising me, I REALLY LOVE THE JETTA... But honestly, what do you think is the smartest decision?? It would really help if you have owned either one. Thanks!! Here is some info on each car I'm looking at... 2002 Volkswagen JETTA GLS: 4 Dr Sedan Exterior Color: Reflex Silver Metallic Interior Color: Gray 1.8 liter, 4 Cyl. Turbocharged, Automatic VIN: 3VWSE69M92M015158 Stock # B6498 Miles: 74,835 Warranty: Yes Nice loaded up Jetta GLS with power moonroof, leather int.,alloys and great fuel economy. This is just a great car to drive and with its 28 MPG you won't mind Driving Price: $8,495.00

A: Jetta is a German car...my mom owns it. it is a pain in the ass. when parts break, it is very expencive. you will have to maintain it 10/10!! my mom owns a 2002 jetta 1.8 turbo blue. Avalon is a Japanese car, which is really reliable. it will run for very long. my friend own an avalon for 6 years, and he never had major problems. he did his oil change every 3000 miles, sometimes he even skipped to 6000 miles, nothing went wrong. and parts for it are cheap.. i would def go with the avalon. More space. bigger car. almost the same price, even cheaper. if something blows out, the parts are cheap. VW on the other hand requires special attention. you will have to maintain it at a local VW dealership. and plus the VW is a turbo. so there is another problem. GASOLINE! my choice: AVALON!

Q: How much would it cost to change my volkswagen jetta 2002's radio.?
ok so i know that you can change the radio on a car and get a gps/radio on it but i have no idea on how to do this and i would love to know how much would it cost me and how i would go about founding where to get this done thanks in advance

A: You can do it at any car audio place, or Best Buy, Frys Electronics, Ultimate Electronics, etc... You can purchase all the stuff from them, or buy them from somewhere else and take them in... You need the stereo, of course, and the wiring harness, and possibly a deck molding kit...

Q: 2002 Volkswagen Jetta TDI brakes problem...?
2002 Jetta TDI. The brakes lock up randomly when braking at low speeds. Usually low speeds, it hasnt happened at medium to high speeds. When i press the brakes, they lock up for a split-second and the car jerks very violently. Also, the brake pedal goes to the floor and makes a loud sound like air being released when it happens. then when it releases the brake pedal slowly comes back into place and you can hear a soft air sound. Now i know nothing about cars but my guess is the brake booster because its a vacuum and theres the air sound. or the ABS pump/controller stuff. Any help would be great. Thanks! it just started today and i havent driven it since. so im not going to kill anyone.

A: It IS your brake booster, or a hole in one of the lines going to it. Get it fixed immediately, as it's a serious safety hazard. If you want to keep your costs down, look for an independent VW specialist. They are often better at diagnosing problems than the dealer, and don't hose you down as much.
